Operation Precautions For Wheel Skid Steer Loader

1. Personnel Safety and Protection

Certification and Training: Operators must be professionally trained and familiar with the specific handling characteristics of the model. Unauthorized or untrained personnel are strictly prohibited from operating the machine.

Seatbelts and Safety Bars: After entering the cab, you must fasten the seatbelt and lower the safety armrest (lap bar). This is a prerequisite for engine ignition and is critical for effective Roll-Over Protective Structure (ROPS) protection.

No Passengers: It is strictly forbidden to carry passengers anywhere on the machine (including inside the bucket, on the lift arms, or inside the cab). It must never be used as an aerial work platform.

Mounting and Dismounting: Always face the machine and maintain "three-point contact" (two hands and one foot, or two feet and one hand) using the handrails and steps. Never jump off the machine.

2. Pre-Operational Inspection

Walk-around Inspection: Check tire pressure and wear, inspect hydraulic lines for leaks, ensure pivot pins are lubricated, and verify that all lights and warning decals are intact.

Attachment Security: Confirm that the bucket or specialized attachments (e.g., forks, augers) are fully engaged and that the locking pins are securely seated to prevent detachment during operation.

Clearance: Sound the horn to alert others and ensure the surrounding area is clear of personnel or obstacles before starting the engine.

3. Critical Operational "Don'ts"

Incline Operation (High Rollover Risk): Never travel across a slope; always drive straight up or down. When unloaded, the counterweight (rear) should point uphill. When loaded, the bucket should point uphill. Avoid turning or parking on steep inclines.

Travel Posture: While traveling, keep the lift arms as low as possible (approx. 30–40 cm off the ground) with the bucket tilted back to maintain a low center of gravity. Never travel or turn with the lift arms raised, as this significantly increases the risk of forward or lateral tip-over.

Load Control: Never exceed the Rated Operating Capacity (ROC). Imbalanced or excessive loads can cause the rear of the machine to lift or the entire unit to roll. If you encounter resistance when scooping hard materials, reposition rather than forcing the machine.

Smooth Control: Skid steering relies on differential friction. Sudden turns, hard braking, or high speeds on soft/uneven ground can lead to skidding, bouncing, or loss of control. Always operate control levers with smooth, gradual movements.

Stay Within the Cab: Keep all limbs inside the operator's compartment at all times. Never reach out of the window or stand/walk under raised lift arms.

4. Parking and Maintenance

Shutdown Procedure: Lower the bucket or attachment flat to the ground, cycle the control levers to relieve hydraulic pressure, engage the parking brake, and allow the engine to idle for a few minutes for cooling before switching off the ignition and removing the key.

Maintenance Safety: If maintenance is required under raised lift arms, you must use the manufacturer-provided lift arm support struts or safety lock pins. Never rely solely on the hydraulic system, as a hose burst or valve leak could cause the arms to fall instantly.

No Interlock Bypassing: Never short-circuit, remove, or disable safety interlocks such as seatbelt or lap bar sensors.
